Angus Yachts of Toronto Increases Level of Support For Spirit of Canada |
July 21st , 2008
Spirit of Canada Ocean Challenges and Angus Yachts of Toronto today announced that Angus Yachts will increase the company's level of support from the Silver to Gold Partner level. In addition to financial support, Angus Yachts has donated a support RIB and outboard motor to be used by the Spirit of Canada Team as they train and prepare for the upcoming Vendee Globe singlehanded race around the world without assistance and without stops.
Derek Hatfield, skipper for Spirit of Canada, commented: "The support RIB is a critical piece of our training equipment. We use it in many different ways; for taking video and pictures of the Open 60 sailing, transporting crew to and from the Open 60 and most importantly, protecting the Open 60 when maneuvering in tight situations around the docks. We have had a long and fantastic relationship with Angus Yachts of Toronto stemming back years to when we first met at the Toronto International Boat Show. I have always been impressed with their professionalism and genuine desire to help the Spirit of Canada campaign. We are honored to represent Angus and their team around the world."
